Issue

When attempting to send a .dcf meter template file to the ION7500RTU using ION Setup, the process fails and displays the error:
"Unable to download dcf(xml) file to a non-RMP device."

Cause

Rapid Meter Programming (RMP) is not supported on ION7500RTU meters. The .dcf file format is designed for meters that support RMP, so it cannot be applied to this device.

Resolution

Use the .fwn version of the meter template file with ION Setup instead of the .dcf file. ION Setup will treat the .fwn file similarly to how it handles .dcf files on RMP-supported meters. Refer to the attached template file for the correct format.
