The customer wants to know what components are required to be installed prior to performing SPM/PME installation, and they also want to verify that all components were installed correctly during the process.

Cause
Uninstalling, or missing components would cause some segments of the Web Application not to function properly.

Resolution

The following sections need to be installed prior to starting the SPM/PME installation:

ii) Health and Diagnostics

• HTTP Logging
• Request Monitor

iii) Security

• Request Filtering

iv) Performance Features

• Static Content Compression

v) Management Tools

• IIS Management Console

e) In addition, the followings are installed:
i) Application Development Features

• (1) ASP.NET
• .NET Extensibility
• (3) ASP
• (a) If prompted to add other role services, required by selections, click “Add Required Role Services”.
• (4) ISAPI Extensions
• (5) ISAPI Filters
• ii) Management Tools

(1) IIS 6 Management Compatibility

• IIS 6 Metabase and IIS configuration compatibility
• IIS 6 WMI Compatibility
