How to setup a Fault Status on the Altivar Process Drive?
Issue:
Is there a Fault Relay on the Altivar Process Drive to be set up for a Fault Status?

Product Line:
Altivar Process Drive (ATV630, ATV930, ATV650, ATV950, ATV660, ATV960, ATV680, ATV980)

Environment:
All serial numbers, all model numbers

Cause:
N/A

Resolution:
Assign the desired output relay to the function "Operating State Fault" for a fault status.

Any of the drive output relays can be programmed as a fault status. Normally, the R1 relay is factory set to a fault status function ("Operating State Fault"). R1 has a NO (R1C-R1A) and a NC (R1C-R1B) set of dry contacts. When the VFD control board is powered up and NOT in a faulted status, the R1 relay will change state. When the VFD goes to a faulted status, the R1 relay will drop back to normal state.  Consider the function to be a NO FAULT relay:  R1 activates when there is NO FAULT detected.

For example: R1A and R1C is a normally-open contact. When R1 is assigned to "Operating State Fault", R1A and R1C will be open when the drive is powered down. R1A and R1C will close when the drive is powered up, and open if the drive faults.
