How to activate EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert license?

The goal of this article is to inform about the process to activate EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert licenses.

License Activation Procedure
In order to activate a purchased license, you need to get a Site Key.
To do so, please follow the procedure described below.


Generate a site code
The Site Code generator tool is located on the EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert Register application, which can be found through your Windows Start Menu:
Start>All Programs> EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert > EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert Register

1. Choose the [Hardkey] or [SoftKey] option at [Protection Manager] page, click [Check].

Please plugin the USB dongle at first, when select Hard key.

2. Then click [Change License].

* In the [NetworkAdapterlist] when you select Softkey, select the network adapter which is the computer will use under normal operating conditions. ProtectionManager will generate the unique site code.

3. Copy the Site code and send it together with other needed information by email as indicated next.

Site Key request
To get the Site Key please send an email to SiteKeyLicense.Support@schneider-electric.com. Make sure that the email contains the following information whether you are requesting for one or several Site Keys:

• Site Code
• Activation Key
• Serial Number
• Part Number
• Software Version information (8.0 / 8.1 / 2020 / ...)
• Company name, address and telephone number
• Your name and email address
  

To activate both buildtime and runtime licenses on the same machine or USB hard key, indicate only 1 Site Code when sending both activation keys, serial numbers and part numbers info.



License activation key, serial number and part number can be found on the license sticker when ordering a paper license or in the email entitlement certificate when ordering a digital license.
The site key will be issued in 48 hours by e-mail.
If you don't receive this e-mail, please contact your local Schneider Electric office.


License Activation
After receiving the Site Key, run the EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert Register tool using the same USB hard key or selecting the same network adapter used before to generate the unique Site Code and apply the Site Key after the [Change License] step and then click
[Authorize].



License Changes
All changes needed to be done on an existing license require the generation of a new site code.
So, for any license change, use the license register application to generate a new site code and contact the SiteKeyLicense.Support@schneider-electric.com with your new request.

• By purchasing an update license is possible to update from an older version of EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert to a newer software version.
• Purchase of an upgrade license allow to increase the tags counting of an existing license.
• Thin client licenses can be purchased to add more remote connections to a runtime machine.
• Purchase of an Import Wizard license, that is a build time add-on license, allows you to import and convert to EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert, projects made in some of our competitors’ software.
• You may also need to change licensing method type of an existing license. For instance, from sitekey to hardkey or transfer a softkey license from a machine to another machine. Change of licensing method and softkey license transfer are done free of charge without need of any additional license purchase.
