What would cause the motor protection dv/dt output filter on the ATV630 Drive to overheat or smell hot when running above 60hz?

Issue:

dv/dt output filter is overheating or smelling hot when the drive is running above 60hz.

Product Line:

ATV all series with a dv/dt output filter

Environment:

All

Cause:

Running the motor speed above the dv/dt filters rated speed.

Resolution:

You need to check with the dv/dt motor protection manufacture to see what the rated speed specs are. If the rated speed is 0 -60hz then you can not run the motor above the rated 60hz speed.
