Yes, it is possible.
In theControl Expert application, under PRM general settings, ensure the following options are checked and properly configured:
- Create an entry for this device name in the DHCP server
- Backup the PRM configuration in the FDR server on download
Once these settings are confirmed, follow these steps to correctly replace the PRM:
- Remove the PRM module to be replaced.
- Prepare the new PRM module:
- Set its lower rotary switch to ‘E’ (Configuration file deletion) to clear any existing configuration.
- Power up the new PRM and wait for the boot process to complete, then power it off.
- Match the rotary switch positions:
- Check the rotary switch positions on the old PRM and set the new PRM identically.
- Install the new PRM:
- Power up the new PRM in the same location as the old one.
The new PRM will boot and automatically retrieve its configuration file from the FDR server.
