Question:
What are the different modes of APC by SE Service Bypass PDU operation?
Product Line:
SBP1500RM,SBP1500RMI,SBP2200RM,SBP3000RM,SBP3000RMI,SBP3000RMHW
Answer:
The APC by Schneider Electric Service Bypass PDU's only have 2 options These are BYPASS and FROM UPS OUTPUT.
- When pointing to FROM UPS OUTPUT, the load is supported by the UPS and will be with battery back up support given the UPS is in a fully functional state with its components and battery. This is the normal position of the Service Bypass PDU.
- When pointing to BYPASS, the load is totally dependent on the power supplied by the power source connected with the utility power receptacle, cord, or terminal block (this depends on the model - see image below). There will be no battery support with the primary UPS attached to the device. The Service Bypass PDU can be put to this position in the event the UPS needs to be replaced to continuously give power back to the load and avoid down times. Take note that the service bypass PDU is MBB (Make Before Break). This means that the switching should be seamless given that the power is present and is adequate for the load attached.
Additionally, you can check the manual of our APC by SE Service Bypass PDU's for more information or if you need details on how to set up your devices.
