What is the purpose of the "Filter" selection shown on the BMXAMI0410 Configuration screen in Unity?

The BMXAMI0410 offers filter mechanism which will capture and trim out noise which may accompany the analog input signal.
The filter's time constant is variable and the user can select a higher setting (6) for very noisy environments or no filtering (0) in less noisy environments.
The higher the selection the greater the filtering action. By turning on filtering you also impact the the time it will take for the analog signal to settle.
This increase in response time should be considered when making the filter selection. Refer to the attached document.
