The Input Current of Altivar 71 HD90N4 to HC50N4 range of drives is less than the output current because of the presence of the DC Choke (Lw).
The DC choke reduces the amplitude of the harmonics 5, 7, 11, 13......, thus causing the RMS current to reduce.
