How to order non-standard key numbers for Harmony XB4 and XB5?
1. What you need to know
XB4 and XB5 key switches are supplied with standard lock n° 455 E. For any other lock, keep the standard head reference and add a suffix: 10 (458 A), 12 (421 E), 14 (520 E) or 20 (3131 A) for the four alternative standard locks; D or TEC10 for the three specific locks; K (4 tumblers) or C (5 tumblers) for custom locks. In the custom case the radical alone is not enough - the key number must be entered as technical text on the order line, followed by the profile letter. Spare keys are ordered separately, using the radical ZBG followed by the key number.
2. What to check before ordering
A key number is not ordered like a product reference. It is built in two parts: a suffix on the head reference and, for custom locks, a technical text on the order line.
- Wafers are the teeth of the key. 4 tumblers keys come in profile A or E, 5-tumblers keys in profile C.
- A key carries two equivalent codes: a short indirect code (e.g. 422) and a direct code derived from the tumblers (e.g. A1323). Either is accepted on an order.
- The number entered on the order is the one physically engraved on the key - a typing error ends up on the delivered product.
- Suffix and technical text are not interchangeable: the suffix identifies the order radical, the technical text identifies the exact key. A K or C order without technical text cannot be produced.
