How can we help you today?

The Buck Boost Calculator slide chart has a lowest voltage listed. What happens if voltage varies above or drops below that value?

Issue:
Voltages lower or higher than the range of available Buck Boost Calculators

Product Line:
LV Transformers

Environment:
Applies to Buck Boost Transformers by SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:
Buck Boost Transformers offer a specific percentage of voltage increase or decrease, but within a set range

Resolution:
Should the voltage drop below the listed value, the connection will still provide the same voltage ratio change (provided that the voltage does not drop below the point necessary to excite the core of the Transformer.) However, it is important to remember that a Transformer is a current rated device. Thus, the Autotransformer connection is current rated as well. So, if the voltage drops and the current rating remains fixed, then the overall kVA capacity of the Autotransformer connection drops proportionately.
