Issue:
Product Design Features
Product Line:
EZ Metering Equipment
Environment:
Tenant Breakers
Cause:
Repair parts
Resolution:
The QE-VH style tenant breakers that were used in the Old EZM Branch devices are obsolete with no replacement.. They were used in devices, like the EZM742200R, EZM741200R, EZM744200R and EZM542200R.
The EZM metering was redesigned in approximately 1998 to the current design EZM with new main horizontal bus structure. But the QE tenant breakers were still used until approximately 2003 with the current design EZM branches. The current design EZM branch device catalog numbers were changed from 200amp to 225amp (for example: the old cat. # EZM113200 changed to new cat. # EZM113225) and the tenant breaker was changed from the QE to the current Powerpact Q-Frame.
The only solution to replace the QE tenant breaker is to ADD a new complete EZM branch device. However, whether or not an EZM transition section is required depends on the existing EZM catalog and series number. The transition section allows the current design main bus structure of the EZM to attach to the old style main bus structure. See FA124972 here for further explanation and drawings of the EZM transition sections.
