What is the significance of dial settings (5, 10, 20 and 30) in white colour coded part when ground fault protection is disabled?

TeSys Giga electronic over-load relays are equipped with multiple control
in single adjustment dial.

The same dial can be used to set Ground Fault ON/OFF and the same time,
the trip call can also be selected by the same dial.

Setting on white side of the dial:
  • Ground Fault is OFF
  • The trip class can be selected from Class 5e….30e

Setting on black side of the dial:
  • Ground Fault is ON
  • The trip class can be selected from Class 5e….30e

Similarly, the other dial is used to set phase imbalance ON/OFF,
and the relay RESET function can be selected as Manual or Automatic.

Setting on white side of the dial:
  • Phase imbalance is OFF
  • The relay to be reset with MANUAL function

Setting on black side of the dial:
  • Phase imbalance is ON
  • The relay is reset with AUTOMATIC function

This feature helps to have multiple functions, increased flexibility and to protect motor under different fault conditions.
