How to retrieve Log Files from a Modicon Edge IO NTS
Even though the Island Management configuration has been brought into the Physical Devices tab of EAE Buildtime v25.0, this currently serves only as a means to perform an offline configuration. The configuration must still be manually transferred to the Modicon Edge IO NTS using the built-in web interface in the NIM module.
This same web interface is used to access the log files for both the Network Interface Module (NIM) and the I/O slices. This article explains how to retrieve these files, based on the Modicon Edge I/O Configurator and Web Interface User Guide (EIO0000004810.00, 12/2024).
NOTE: If this is a new device, refer to the section Setting an IP address in the Modicon Edge I/O NTS Network Interface Modules User Guide (EIO0000004794.00) before proceeding.

With your computer configured for and connected to the same logical network as the Network Interface Module (or directly connected to the NIM's Ethernet port), open a web browser and enter the IP address of the NIM using HTTPS.
2. If your browser flags the site as Not Secure or Not Private, click Advanced, then click on Proceed anyway.
3. The Login page will appear. Enter your username and password.
If this is your first time logging in, refer to Getting Started > First Login in the user guide (EIO0000004810.00, 12/2024).
4. Once logged in, the FILE page will be displayed.
Ensure you are connected to the NIM: on the State bar, click Offline, then select Online from the dropdown menu.
5. Go to the ISLAND MANAGEMENT tab. In the Island Configuration menu on the left, click on the NIM. Its configuration will appear on the right.
6. Click on the LOGS section.
7. In the LOGS section, under Select the scope for the logs, choose Island from the dropdown list.
8. Click Download as file.
8.1. In the Download log as a file window, confirm that Island is selected for the scope.
8.2. Under Select the types of logs you want to extract, select both Standard and Crash Logs.
8.3. Take note of the file name shown in the field. Click Begin download.
9. A progress window will appear. Wait until it reads Download completed, then click Save the file.
10. Open your Downloads folder and locate the downloaded .zip file.
11. Send the file to Technical Support for analysis.
