Offshore2Grid
The Offshore2Grid project focused on offshore generation as a vast, promising alternative source for renewable energy. To enable the efficient integration of offshore power, the project developed:
- Robust and reliable converters.
- Power distribution systems to minimize losses and costs.
- A plant control system to integrate renewables into the grid.
With a €2,440,673.04 budget, the project (IDEA 860604/ CTA 13/669) lasted from September 2013 to March 2015. The co-financing came from the Consejería de Economía, Innovación y Ciencia (Junta de Andalucía), and Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA).
Partners: Abengoa Research, Telvent Energía, Green Power, Abengoa Seapower, and Enerocean.
