How to wiring and connection Digital Output for PM5100.
As per wiring diagram below, the source (40Vdc and 20mA) will be provided, but please be informed that the source is not used for pulse generation. Pulse generation will be done by meter itself.
Pulse Output (POP) is sent through Digital Output (DO) which is volt-free contact (acting like lighting switch). If they set up particular DO for POP in meter setting, that DO will close and open to generate 1 pulse when the condition is met.
In practical, Digital Input of user’s equipment (i.e. PLC) will have its own DC power supply. Therefore, user will provide DC power source connecting to terminal of DO of power meter. When DO closes, circuit will be completely looped.
As above explaination, the spec will show what is maximum voltage that DO can support without danger and how much current consumes by that DO.
