What is the Low Battery Duration setting used for?

Issue:
What is the network card low battery duration setting used for?

Product:
Network Management Card
PowerChute Network Shutdown

Environment:
AP9617, AP9618, AP9619, AP9630, AP9631, AP9635, AP9640, AP9641

Cause:
Informational

Solution:
Low Battery Duration is an alarm that will trigger shutdown when the UPS runtime remaining falls below the set time. For example, if the Low Battery Duration is set to ten minutes, and the UPS predicted runtime remaining reaches ten minutes or below, a low battery condition is triggered. When the alarm is triggered the network card will send a signal to each configured PowerChute client and the clients will begin the shutdown process.  If input power is not restored to the UPS, it will turn off when the battery has exhausted.
Low Battery Duration as displayed on NMC web interface

PowerChute considers the low battery alarm to be a critical event. It is not configurable within the PowerChute GUI. It is recommended that the Low Battery Duration is configured to allow enough time for the PowerChute clients OS shutdown to complete.

For assistance with Low Battery Duration and Available Runtime has been Exceeded alarm in PowerChute Network Shutdown see Schneider Electric PowerChute Network Shutdown reports "Available runtime has been exceeded".
