NIM Holdup Time Operation
Goals and Symptoms
The goal of this resolution is to clarify NIM holdup time operation for Advantys STB users.
Causes and Fixes
When the network head that writes to a NIM is stopped, an output module located in the NIMs island will maintain its output states from that time until any preprogrammed timeout value expires. After that, the predefined fallback states are then set.
However, if the network communication cable is disconnected at the NIM, island output module states are not maintained for the holdup time duration. They immediately go to the predefined fallback states.
