Momentum M1E 'Ethernet Statistics' Web Page - 'Net Restarts' and 'Memory Error' Defined

Issue
The purpose of this resolution is to better define two Functioning Error counters in the Momentum M1 Ethernet Statistics web page.

Product Line
Momentum

Environment

Resolution
The two counters are Memory Errors and Net Restarts. Explanations are as follows:

  • Memory Errors
This function does not apply to M1E's. The counter is not used and remains at 0.
  • Net Restarts
This counter has a different meaning than the Net Restart name. This is actually a ' Peak Collision Detector'. Its function is to count the number of successive attempts a packet tries to get on the network without success due to collisions. This counter will only retain the highest count value of any packet.
For example: If a packet takes 4 attempts, the count increments to 4. If another packet takes 2 attempts, the count remains at 4. But if another packet takes 5 attempts, the counter then increments to 5.
