Sepam Relay Series 20, 40 and 80 - When would the automatic recloser (ANSI 79) give a breaker open command?

Issue
The recloser (ANSI 79) uses the orders from the phase overcurrent (ANSI 50/51), ground fault (ANSI 50N/51N or ANSI 50G/51G), directional phase overcurrent (ANSI 67) and directional ground fault (ANSI 67N) protection functions to give trip and open orders to the switchgear following a permanent fault. The recloser can also be activated remotely by using the V_TRIPCB command sent over comms from a supervisor. The Sepam Relay can also be set up to perform different reclosing cycles, depending on which protection function gives the trip order. It can be set up to perform simply 1 reclosing cycle (shot 1) or all 4 reclosing cycles (shot 4). This information can be set using SFT2841:
