Causes and Fixes

All timestamps are stored in the database by ION Enterprise using UTC format. However, different settings are used to display real-time and historical data, which may confuse the user.

Vista

For real-time data, Vista displays the meter time in local time according to the time zone settings of the client's operating system. For historical data, Vista displays the timestamps as calculated using the server operating system's time zone settings (assuming the option Show Logs in Universal Time (UTC) is unchecked).

Reporter

Reporter, like Vista, applies the time zone offset settings on the local PC to the UTC time to get the Local Time column.

WebReach

For real-time data screens, WebReach displays the meter time in local time according to the meter (i.e. according to the time zone settings on the meter). For historical data, WebReach displays the timestamps as calculated using the server operating system's time zone settings.

ION Devices Front Panel

The time zone settings on the meter (in the Clock module) allow the meter to display the local time.
