Issue
When running a side-by-side upgrade from PME 8.x to PME 9.0 the installer stops with the following error:
The installer could not complete this step. Do you want to continue with the rest of the installation?
When you click yes, you can see that Start Service and Verified Registered Services failed. The Custom VIP services will not start.

The installer goes to the end and displays Could Not Complete All Steps as shown below.

Cause
The VIP custom services will not start when the installer fails with these errors (Start Service and Verify Registered Services) because the VIP processor is  setup using the old server name

Resolution
Running the SQL script, Update_Servername_in_live.sql, to update the server name will resolve this issue. It is attached to this article.
