What can cause an EPFI [External Error] fault on an ATV340 and how do I correct it?

Published date: 01 March 2019

Customer is experiencing an EPFI fault on their ATV340 series drive.

Product line:

 Event triggered by an external device, depending on user.
 An external error has been triggered via Embedded Ethernet.

Remove the cause of the external error.  An external error fault is a user-defined fault.  The user has programmed the drive to enter a fault state when either the logic input assigned to the function is triggered, or when an 'external fault' condition is intentionally triggered over Ethernet.   This function is generally used to allow a device external to the drive to shut the drive down via logic input or Ethernet command.
