Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia (SEEAA) is an impact investing vehicle established in 2019 by Schneider Electric, Norfund, Amundi, and EDFI MC. SEEAA invests in early-stage companies driving a just energy transition and the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 in South and Southeast Asia, particularly targeting underserved populations. SEEAA has invested in 13 start-ups across 5 sectors: Solar, Agri-solar, Biogas and biofuel, E-mobility, and Electrification.
This inaugural impact report outlines SEEAA four-year journey towards a comprehensive impact strategy covering diverse themes and geographies. It delves into SEEAA’s theory of change and impact methodologies to provide transparency over its impact management process. More importantly, it features SEEAA’s additionality as a catalytic investor, and highlights the key impact created by SEEAA’s portfolio companies on people and the environment since SEEAA’s inception.
