Statement from Annette Clayton, CEO and President, Schneider Electric North America, on Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework

Boston, MA, USA

Boston, MA, June 24, 2021 — I commend President Biden and congressional leaders for striking an initial bipartisan deal that would make historic investments in our country’s infrastructure. Schneider Electric is fully behind the American Jobs Plan, which would boost supply chains, increase manufacturing, and support electric vehicles. Upgrading and modernizing our nation’s infrastructure is critical for job creation, a stronger economy and more competitive posture in the future. Building resiliency and sustainability into our infrastructure is also urgent. America needs to invest in and modernize the electric grid as more communities experience the devastating impacts of massive heatwaves and droughts that climate change is only making worse.

Schneider Electric encourages Congress and the administration to continue efforts toward passage of a bipartisan infrastructure bill as soon as possible. As we’ve said before, revitalizing American infrastructure and boosting climate resiliency is a team effort and everyone has a role to play. We’re committed to supporting federal action on these critical issues as we continue our work with partners across sectors to expand access to more secure and sustainable energy solutions.
