Job Description

Organizational Context

This role is part of Schneider Digital and reports directly to the MEA Zone IT Director. It collaborates closely with the Cluster President and their leadership team, acting as a strategic partner in driving digital transformation across the Francophone Africa Cluster. The role leads a team of 8 IT professionals and supports approximately 500+ users across 18+ countries.

 

Job Purpose

To lead the digital and IT function for the Francophone Africa Cluster, enabling business strategy through technology, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering an outstanding employee experience.

 

Strategic Digital Leadership

  • Understand and align with the overall FSA Cluster business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities where digital solutions and technology can drive business value.
  • Translate business needs into actionable digital initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and business partner for all digital and IT-related topics within the cluster.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Cluster President and their leadership team.
  • Communicate digital strategies and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure digital initiatives are aligned with strategic business goals and deliver measurable outcomes.

 

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team across multiple countries.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the cluster.

 

Employee Experience

  • Champion employee experience by ensuring seamless IT services and intuitive digital tools.
  • Drive proactive support and continuous improvement in service delivery.

 

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Provide 2nd Line End User & Infrastructure Support.
  • Manage daily infrastructure operations including backup, workstation upgrades, and inventory.
  • Oversee server and communications room standards.
  • Collaborate with global helpdesk and local support teams to resolve incidents within SLA.
  • Manage procurement, tech refresh, and vendor relationships for IT assets.

 

Telecommunications, LAN/WAN

  • Manage LAN/WAN infrastructure and liaise with vendors and service providers.
  • Liaise with Network operations, Connectivity teams, and service providers.
  • Track telecommunications spend.

 

Global Projects & Programs

  • Collaborate with global teams on infrastructure and digital initiatives.
  • Ensure successful rollout of global programs in the cluster.

 

 

 

 

Business Continuity & Compliance

  • Execute BCP/ITCP/DRP simulations and maintain readiness.
  • Ensure software licensing, virus management, and compliance standards are met.

 

Vendor & Service Management

  • Manage third-party contracts and vendor performance.
  • Conduct monthly service reviews and track procurement and warranty claims.

 

Accountability

  • Drive Digital transformation across the cluster
  • Deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Provide excellent end-user and infrastructure services.
  • Manage IT budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Drive improvements in cost, quality, and risk profile of IT services.

 

Complexity

  • Operate across a multi-country, multicultural cluster.
  • Collaborate across boundaries with global and regional IT teams.
  • Manage external vendors and third-party service providers.

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of digital transformation principles.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT architecture, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI, IoT, data analytics).
  • Experience in business process analysis and digital solution design.
  • Proficiency in ITIL and project management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in matrix organizations and multi-country operations.

 

Basic Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
  • Experience: 10–15 years in Digital/IT, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in digital transformation initiatives, stakeholder engagement, IT & multi-country operations.
  • Technical Proficiency: LAN/WAN, Microsoft platforms, cloud services, cybersecurity, ERP systems.
  • Languages: Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
